Welcome to the Turtle Island Building Trust (TIBT). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, platform, services, and procurement tools (collectively, the "Platform").
By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. Use of the Platform
1.1 Eligibility
You must have the legal authority to represent yourself or your organization when creating accounts, submitting information, or engaging in procurement activities.
1.2 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Platform for:
- Submitting false or misleading information
- Impersonating individuals or organizations
- Interfering with Platform security or functionality
- Uploading harmful code, malware, or unauthorized scripts
- Engaging in harassment or discriminatory behaviour
- Accessing areas or data not intended for you
Failure to follow these rules may result in suspension or termination.
1.3 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for any activity under your account.
2. Platform Features
2.1 Indigenous Business Directory
Indigenous businesses can create verified profiles. Verification documents are reviewed solely to confirm Indigenous ownership and eligibility and are not shared without consent.
2.2 Procurement & Tender Posting
Buyers can post tenders, RFQs, RFPs, funding programs, and project opportunities. TIBT is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or completeness of buyer-posted opportunities.
2.3 National Aggregation
The Platform aggregates publicly available tenders, grants, and funding programs from various sources. TIBT does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or completeness of aggregated content.
2.4 AI Matchmaking
AI tools assist in opportunity matching and supplier recommendations. Recommendations are informational and not guaranteed.
2.5 Certifications and Verification Services
TIBT provides project-specific and business-level certification services. Certifications are based on information submitted by users, and TIBT is not responsible for omissions or inaccuracies.
3. User Content & Submissions
3.1 Accuracy of Information
You agree that all information submitted to the Platform is accurate, complete, and current.
3.2 Ownership of Content
You retain ownership of content you upload. By submitting information, you grant TIBT a non-exclusive license to use the content for operating and improving the Platform.
3.3 Prohibited Content
You may not upload:
- False verification documents
- Confidential materials without permission
- Offensive or discriminatory content
4. Data Protection & Privacy
Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy.
TIBT uses industry-standard protections to secure data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Payment & Fees
5.1 Indigenous Business Access
Indigenous businesses receive free access unless otherwise indicated.
5.2 Buyer Services
Buyers may pay fees for premium features, posting tools, or certification services.
Fees will be disclosed before purchase.
5.3 Refunds
All paid services are non-refundable unless required by law.
6. Platform Availability
We strive to keep the Platform operational but do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted access
- Error-free performance
- Real-time updates of aggregated tenders
Maintenance or outages may occur without notice.
7. Third-Party Links & Content
The Platform may include links to external sites. TIBT is not responsible for:
- Third-party content
- Accuracy of external tenders
- Privacy practices of other organizations
Users should review external websites independently.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TIBT is not liable for:
- Errors or omissions in user-submitted content
- Incorrect or unavailable procurement or funding data
- Business losses or missed opportunities
- Third-party actions, posts, or inaccuracies
- Technical issues or downtime
Use of the Platform is at your own risk.
9. Termination
TIBT may suspend or terminate access if a user:
- Violates these Terms
- Misuses verification information
- Uploads fraudulent or harmful content
- Attempts to compromise platform integrity
Users may delete their accounts at any time.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province of Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
